The black maxi skirt is a closet staple that started receiving an increasing amount of play over Summer, so why not carry the look into Fall and maximize your wardrobe. If you're looking for some transitioning styling inspiration make use of your Summer maxi skirt and add a long sleeve blouse for a sleek sophisticated look.

{fall forward}

The most covetable collection yet that Intermix has to offer. These images left me breathless and wanting more. The autumnal looks from brands like Helmut Lang, Rag & Bone, Mulberry and Proenza Schouler are perfect pieces to make a statement this Fall. I'm loving to luxe layers that add texture and dimension to every look. The most important investment this season will be your fur vest, but don't worry it's not a passing trend. Check out their new store in Meatpacking this month...

{check-mate}

Plaids are always a Fall/Winter style go-to, but what I love most about plaids is that they are a year-round trend that can be dressed up or dressed down. So shop your closet...or your boyfriends, and dig deep for your plaid shirts. To add a little luxe to your humble plaids channel your inner Rachel Zoe and add a faux fur topper to create contrast and drama to your ensemble. Are you mad for plaid this Fall season???

{self-expression}

After Summer's prescription of neon denim Fall has taken a different point of view, something less complicated, a little more grown up - maybe even...minimalistic? A style that reads refined, chic and simple. Fall is the season of choice, the season of self-empowerment, and personal style. There's no better way of self-expression than pairing your classic Fall pieces with an unexpected accessory. This season I'm lusting over colored clutches, dramatic jewels and fur accents. Go on, express yourself...

{animal instinct}

Looks like the lion has lost his crown as the king of the jungle, with the leopard getting all the attention this Fall season. If there is one print or pattern that never goes out of style, it is the garishly loved and constantly updated animal print. If you're wondering what your next purchase should be to help transition into Fall, I suggest you take a cue out of my "blog." I'm clearly suffering from feline fever this season as I double-dip in leopard with my trans-seasonal coat and printed calf-hair clutch, accompanied by an equally eye-catching red lip. In addition to playful animal prints I'm smitten with prim, ladylike silhouettes that create high-impact. Animal prints are a great way to energize your wardrobe.
