This stylized video of the Met Gala is intoxicating. Glamour, flamboyance, decadence. Hair, clothes and make-up all exaggerated rising to a crescendo of fabulousness. It's too much, it's too fantastic, it's not to be believed. It's fashion...it's what I live for.

{american dream}
Humble, talented and cultured Prabal Gurung's sheer talent has redesigned the standards of the fashion industry. He's truly living the American Dream as his beautifully designed pieces are adored by the First Lady amongst other high-list celebrities. Although he resides from Nepal his design career truly began in New Delhi while studying at New Delhi's National Institute of Fashion Technology. Gurung's influence in design arose from the simplicity of an elegantly draped Sari. I obviously take great pride in hearing that his career jump started in my mother land, India...even if that is the only connection we have. My love and admiration for Prabal Gurung doesn't just stem from the fact that we share the Indian culture, but that he's embraced it as his own, and exudes his love affair with India through his magical creations. Take a sneak peak into his studio in NYC...a long way from his fashion beginnings halfway around the world.
"If you haven't vistied India, you haven't lived" - Prabal Gurung

{stylish tot}
So maybe I am biased, but my niece is the most beautiful baby girl. Soon to be five months, Malin is a fashion forward tot sporting summer's electrifying neon trend. Her mother, my dear sister-in-law, doesn't believe in outfitting her precious little girl in conservative baby gear. She decked Malin out in not-so-mellow-yellow from head to toe and topped off her precious ensemble with a neutral jacket. She's such a trend setter in the baby market. Malin's future is looking very bright!

{paris}
I've been aching to be in Paris. Luckily my hubby and I have locked in a trip to France over the Christmas holidays...we're off to the French Alps! So, it's not Paris but, but crackling fires, fondue nights and the best apre ski scene in France? I'm sold! December couldn't come any sooner. The breathtaking alpine landscapes are calling my name.
Since I'll be missing Paris this time around I found this clip to give me a quick Parisian fix. Apprécier! x

{j. crew collection}
I am crushing over the latest J. Crew Collection, and who better to feature than the bad girl gone good, Tasha Tilberg. Her commercial side gives her a sweet innocence, but we all know that hidden beneath her all american apparel are fierce tattoo's and edgy piercings. J. Crew teamed up with Nili Lotan to create their latest limited-edition pieces, an Israeli-born designer that's based in NYC working with an intimate team in her Tribeca atelier. Over the past few years J. Crew has mastered creating a lifestyle brand that allows their customers to be a part of the J. Crew family. I am thoroughly obsessed with everything they do...

{modern bohemian}
Club Monaco is starting to creep up my list of "must-shop" retail stores...or at least must "window-shop" seeing how pricey they've become, but I always walk away with some great styling cues. I know we've just peaked spring however I can't help but share their newly released Fall 11 lookbook. The seasons this year seem to blend into one another with effortless fluidity. It's like all the designers anticipated the frugal economy and decided to layer each seasonal trend with minor tweaks, so we can leverage our favorite pieces throughout the year. So keep your lace blazer, lace skirt or lace top handy and accessorize with fall RTW pieces - or pair your nautical striped tee with a double cloth skirt, and top off your wide leg denim with a fall forward sweater or an airy silk blouse. All you frugal fashionista's can still be on trend this fall season with a little creativity...

{dressing the drink}
Karl Lagerfeld does it again. He teamed up with Coca-Cola for the second time to design his favorite beverage in polka dots, stripes and stars. Karl is supposedly so obsessed with DC that he has a private Diet Coke butler. A beverage he's credited for helping him lose an enormous amount of weight. The beverage industry has recently partnered with multiple fashion houses to re-vamp their packaging in hopes to lift sales. Paul Smith, Issey Miyake and Christian Lacroix gave Evian a new outfit a few years back. Look out for the unveiling of Karl's latest venture available in June. It will be the only affordable item I purchase that Karl has designed.
