{the short story}

It's not officially summer without a slew of short options to chose from, and although the cut-off denim shorts are the unofficial summer uniform, I have a different kind of short in mind this season. These J. Crew silk printed shorts exude a flirty finesse that are clean-cut for an evening tailored look or a youthful sporty flair for your day ensemble. Sexy, stylish and highly comfortable. What's your short story this season???

{the work shop}

Inspired by classics this season I showcased this simple but memorable ensemble as I kicked off Spring 2012 at work. These timeless, can't live without pieces have serious staying power. I am currently obsessing over the J. Crew "Minne", a closet chameleon that works with practically everything. Then there's my latest purchase, the J. crew Blythe Blouse, which has been in such high-demand that it's on back-order for over a month. It's the perfect button up to stop your co-workers in their tracks. Finally, my not-so-practical pumps have set new standards. These Lanvin midnight blue ankle strap pumps are my latest go-to. If you're looking to win your audience over during a work presentation strap on some stunners and you'll have them eating out of your hands. Pair these classics with precious metals and you look instantly polished.

heat wave

Spring has finally sprung and that only means one thing...looking forward to fresh spring lip trends to carry us through the season! I've recently been obsessed with "heat wave" by Nars. I looked high and low for an orange-coral shade and when I finally fell upon it at Sephora they were sold out! That's when I knew I had to have it. When I finally got my hands on it I realized...dare I say it? It's the perfect orange lipstick!!! The key is to keep the rest of your makeup natural and finish it off with a lip liner underneath  your lipstick, which is a great primer and gives and ultra sophisticated look. It will help the color stay  on longer and it glides on smoothly for a precise line. Beware, heat wave is a matte finish so hydrate that pout before you apply or for a glossy look finish with a clear lip gloss to give it high-shine. So change your plain looking pout this season to something vibrant and refreshing.
